BIO
Daniela Camilleri was born in 1969 in Malta. She is currently attending Art and Sculpture classes at the Malta School of Art, Valletta.
After obtaining her ‘O’ Level in Art, she attended art classes at the School of Art in Valletta and at the Malta Society of Arts, Valletta under the tutorship of Mr. Eman Grima and Mr. Jesmond Vassallo. She also attended a short Masterclass course ‘Creative Approaches to Art Appreciation’ tutored by Mr. Roderick Camilleri at the Malta School of Art. She attended a unit at the university of Malta open for the public tutored by Dr. Mark Sagona called ‘The Art of Painting’.
Her work is on a journey of self-discovery where during her academic years at college she has been experimenting with various media being 2D or 3D. She is a tactile person and a collector of many things! She is interested in creating artworks using recycled materials and throughout these years her work has gradually focused on the theme of the human figure and more particularly the nude. Daniela tries to convey a message through her artworks without instigating controversy; from an environmental perspective, she focuses to make others perceive the hidden realities of their actions and behaviours.
